Rochester Middle School serves the communities of Rochester, Grand Mound, Gate, and Independence in Southwest Washington. We are on the I-5 corridor just 20 minutes south of Olympia and less than 10 minutes north of Centralia. Our school community consists of approximately 525 students and 50 staff members.
Rochester Middle School's educational program includes all major subjects including advanced classes for language arts, social studies, and math. We have special education and hi-cap programs and are a Title I school. Students can elect to pursue interests through courses in art, STEM technology (3D printing, CAD, robotics, etc.), band, choir, leadership, and project science. Our 7th and 8th grade girls enjoy opportunities to compete against others in our sports league in soccer, volleyball, track, cross country, basketball, and wrestling. Boys compete in football, track, cross country, basketball, and wrestling. All students can participate in a wide variety of after school clubs, including art, chess, knowledge bowl, NANOWRIMO, Latinos Unidos, and robotics. RMS is proud to have been named an overall Washington State School of Distinction multiple times.
